I hope you will take a few minutes and read the updates we have for you in this edition of Frontlines. Though it has been a year of great challenge, we have experienced an outpouring of God’s blessing. If there was a word that best describes the past twelve months for CHF, it would be the word pivot. As a result of Covid, we had to pivot in so many ways.
Domestically, we had to pivot from delivering Food Paks into the homes of families in need to delivering to their doorstep instead. However, because our model focuses on relationship, our churches and recipient families were able to make this pivot seamlessly. Internationally, most of the shipping ports were closed for months, so we had to pivot from shipping Food Paks from the US and figure out how to provide food through in-country sources.
We also used the Covid period to make a major shift in the size and focus of our Food Paks, pivoting to a smaller box with more child-focused food items so that, rather than each home receiving one large Food Pak for the family, now each child in the home receives their own Food Pak. This simple change has dramatically improved the relational elements in the home visit and has provided a greater platform for the local church to share the gospel message with each family served.
Our Poverty Encounter exhibit has been closed for more than a year. However, our team pivoted and created a virtual tour and other online content that has attracted schools from across the country and even internationally!
All of this has created a year of great blessing for CHF! As only God can, He provided us with more than $100 million of generous contributions of food and other relief aid to serve thousands of churches across the United States and in 25 developing countries. We are excited to share some of the testimonials of how God has used the challenges of the past year to accomplish His purposes.
