What Happens When a CHF Volunteer Has No Distribution Center to Work In?

What happens when a CHF volunteer has no Distribution Center to work in? For youth pastor Jason Eeten, the closing of the Children’s Hunger Fund Distribution Center in Chicago did not end his desire to deliver hope to suffering children. Instead, Jason and his Lakepoint Church youth group in Wisconsin embraced Project Food Pak, collecting peanut butter, canned corn, spaghetti, and kid-friendly snacks to fill 100 Food Paks and support gospel-centered mercy ministry to families facing poverty and food insecurity. Their story shows that you don’t need to live near a Distribution Center to volunteer with CHF—you can serve anywhere by planning a Project Food Pak for your group.

Fielder Church’s Record-Breaking Generosity Through 15,000 Food Paks in Arlington, Texas

Our Record-Breaking Generosity Mobile Food Pak event at Fielder Church began in the early hours of November 14th, as volunteers gathered in an empty church parking lot in Arlington, Texas, ready to serve. What started in 2017 with 5,000 Food Paks grew each year—7,000, then 10,000, then 12,000 during the pandemic—as Fielder Church lived out its missional vision to “live sent” and exhale the gospel into their community. This year, across three campuses, volunteers filled 15,000 Food Paks in under two hours, a true record-breaking display of generosity that helped make children in need feel seen, known, and loved. At Children’s Hunger Fund, we are grateful for our friends at Fielder Church and their commitment to deliver hope to suffering children through every Food Pak they pack and every family they reach.

Why is Charitable Giving Important?

Charitable giving is important because God expects His people to give generously in every season of life, whether we are college students, high schoolers, burdened with debts, or comfortably middle class. At Children’s Hunger Fund, we view giving as an act of worship and stewardship that reflects our dependence on God, provides for the work of the church, and cares for those impacted by poverty, including vulnerable children and families in need. When you give, every gift—large or small—helps supply food and hope through Food Paks delivered by trained pastors and volunteers, turning simple offerings into an expression of God’s mercy across the US and around the world.

At Children’s Hunger Fund, we believe a theology of giving begins with God Himself, who commends His people when they give generously in every circumstance. Why Should Our Church Partner with Children’s Hunger Fund?

At Children’s Hunger Fund, we believe God has ordained the Church to be the body of Christ and His primary representative in the world, so our mission is to equip local churches to care for the suffering and vulnerable in their own communities. When your church partners with Children’s Hunger Fund through Project Food Pak, every member of your congregation—young and old—can actively participate in the Great Commission by helping provide food and hope to families impacted by poverty. By supplying under-resourced churches with Food Paks and other resources to deliver directly into homes, we help open doors for long-term relationships where the help and the hope of the gospel can be shared, all for the glory of God.
