At Children’s Hunger Fund, one of our core values is to impact the next generation. We know that children are made in God’s image, and He commands us to nurture and instruct them in His Word. This is why every Food Pak delivered by a local pastor or church volunteer is an opportunity to share the gospel with a child in need.
We also know that impacting the next generation doesn’t just refer to the recipients of CHF Food Paks. Children can also play a role in delivering hope to children in need!
Here are five ways that kids can make an impact:
1. Pray
One of the most important things we can do is pray, and you are never too young to start praying. You can pray for the children who are receiving the Food Paks, that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. You can also pray for the pastors and volunteers delivering food, as many of them are living in poverty themselves. Visit our blog to see recent prayer requests from our partners.
2. Get Informed
Poverty Encounter is a great way to learn more about global poverty and what you can do to make a difference. This interactive exhibit allows you to step into the lives of children living in extreme poverty around the world and hear their stories. 3. Volunteer
Volunteers of all ages are welcome at any of our three Distribution Centers in Los Angeles, Dallas, and San Antonio. Our Volunteer Force is an essential part of the ministry of Children’s Hunger Fund and help with a variety of projects. Click here to sign up for a volunteer time.
4. Project Coin Pak
Did you know that just one quarter can send a meal to a child in need? One quarter! With Project Coin Pak, kids can collect and earn coins and store them in a small, pop-up cardboard box called a Coin Pak. It’s a great opportunity for kids to help kids. 5. Project Food Pak
You can fill Food Paks from the comfort of your own home! When you participate in Project Food Pak, empty Food Paks are delivered directly to your door. Use the shopping list provided to purchase food to fill your Food Paks (kids love finding and picking out food from the shopping list—it’s like a scavenger hunt in the grocery store!). Finally, fill the empty Food Paks with food and drop them off at the nearest UPS center. Every Food Pak you fill will be handed directly to a child facing food insecurity right here in the US.
