I learned that people struggle, and people need help and we can do stuff to help. I learned that people don’t have a nice environment to live in. I hope that what we did today makes a big impact.

Just to hear and see the differences in our lifestyles is humbling.

After learning about their struggles, I realized we need to help them any way possible. We can help by donating money and doing what we did today and volunteer our time to make boxes and fill them with food.

…you’re able to actually see the way that someone is living.

After hearing all their stories, I am starting to realize how thankful I am to have a good education and that having homework is important.

The trip made me grateful for the food and things I have.

At first I wasn’t really concerned about poverty, but once I started listening to the videos and hearing these stories from adults’, kids, and teens, I really started to care.

It was so sweet to be able to have conversations with my students about how they too can be agents for change, even at their young age. I was thankful that I was able to provide them with such a sobering experience and get to see God touching their hearts as they learned about poverty, and the church’s mission to meet others where they are.
