Sarantuyaa
Sarantuyaa is nine years old and lives in a ger, which is a round, portable tent that is a practical dwelling place for the nomadic population of rural Mongolia. But Sarantuyaa doesn’t live in rural Mongolia—she lives in the capital city along with half the population of the country.
She helps take care of her twenty-six-year-old brother who was born with a disability while her mother takes on cleaning jobs to earn a small wage. The government provides a small sum of money to help care for her brother.
Though their needs are simple, this income is often not enough to provide them with their most basic need: food. Sarantuyaa dreams of being able to get a good job one day so that her mother no longer needs to worry about money.
When a pastor arrives to the home of a child like Sarantuyaa with a gift of food and the message of the gospel, hope can be found in Jesus despite difficult circumstances.
