Rovena

In Albania, Rovena and her younger brother live with their grandmother. They have no home, so the family has taken shelter in an abandoned high school building. There’s no running water or electricity, and with broken windows, they are exposed to freezing temperatures in the winter.

In the area where Rovena lives, the streets are dangerous. As Rovena walks to school each day, she’s vulnerable to abduction and assault. To offer some protection, her grandmother cuts Rovena’s hair short to make her look like a boy.

There are very few opportunities for work for Rovena’s grandmother, and there is often no food for Rovena and her brother to eat.

By filling a Virtual Food Pak, local churches can reach children in dangerous and difficult circumstances like Rovena with food and the message of the gospel.
