Jesca

Jesca lives with her grandmother, Dorothy, in a small four-room home in an urban community in Uganda. In addition to caring for Jesca, Dorothy supports six of her grandchildren and one of her adult children.

Dorothy recently lost her poultry business—and her only source of income—which makes it difficult for her to provide food for her family. Additionally, her grandchildren are now unable to attend school due to lack of funds to pay for tuition. Without a proper education, employment opportunities for Dorothy’s grandchildren will be much more limited in the future, and her grandchildren may continue to live in the desperate circumstances they currently face.

When a pastor from a local church arrives at a home like Jesca’s with a gift of food and the message of the gospel, the physical and spiritual needs of a suffering family can be met.
