Volunteer of the Month
Jonathan

Jonathan first volunteered with Children’s Hunger Fund at age 15, serving regularly alongside his family. Now, as an adult, he has returned to CHF, this time as a Volunteer Specialist. Drawing from his familiarity with the organization and the impact of its ministry, Jonathan chose to deepen his involvement by committing to weekly service beginning in July of this year.
CHF: How did you first get connected with Children’s Hunger Fund?
Jonathan: My mother took the first step by making it a recurring event where we volunteered every Thursday while I was in high school.
CHF: What inspired you to start volunteering with CHF?
Jonathan: The staff at CHF inspired me with their stewardship and passion for being a part of a greater impact.
CHF: Is there a volunteer moment or experience that stands out as especially meaningful to you?
Jonathan: THE TOY WRAP! Watching a thousand volunteers fill the warehouse and wrapping toys, all while Christmas music is blasting, was always my favorite part.
CHF: What keeps you coming back to serve?
Jonathan: Regular volunteers who know the integrity of CHF and who love to serve.
CHF: Has volunteering shaped the way you think about hunger, poverty, or generosity?
Jonathan: CHF has definitely demonstrated how critical it is when we sacrifice our time and money to help those impacted by hunger and/or poverty.
CHF: What’s one thing you appreciate about other volunteers or the staff you serve alongside?
Jonathan: Regardless of what team or parties we follow, we can still find a common understanding that serving others is greater than such.

Philippines Update
|
The two containers we built in June and shipped in July just arrived in Cebu on Saturday, September 5. Please pray with us that they are clearing customs smoothly!
The Prayer Force team prayed over the final container of the year on August 25th, and it was shipped out the same day. Currently, the container is at sea and is expected to arrive in Cebu in a couple of months. Please pray that the Food Paks will feed many families, open doors for the gospel, and help build lasting friendships with local churches. |

Join Us for our next Monthly Distribution Prayer Force meeting!
Wednesday, November 4 at 10:00 a.m.

We will enjoy a time of prayer over the Food Paks being distributed to our Mercy Network churches in November. Those who wish to stay afterward will have the opportunity to meet some of our Mercy Network pastors and front line volunteers, help load Food Paks and other resources into their vehicles, and join in the volunteer activities taking place that day.
What to Expect
- Prayer will begin promptly at 10:00 a.m. and conclude by 10:30 a.m.
- Please arrive between 9:45 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the Volunteer Force/Poverty Encounter lobby to check in and be escorted by a staff member to the distribution area.
- Coffee and light breakfast will be served.
As we gather, we will pray for:
- Mercy Network pastors and volunteers serving faithfully in their communities
- Children and families who will receive Food Paks
- Open doors for gospel conversations
- God’s continued blessing on this ministry and all those involved
Please Pray With Us
- Mercy Network churches – endurance and encouragement, fruit from their ministry
- Children’s Hunger Fund’s new facility in Prosper, TX – safety during construction, community support, and funding
- Our Mercy Network Pastors asked for prayer about the next generation. Many have grown up in the church, but do not yet know Jesus in a saving way.
- Mercy Network churches – open doors and soften hearts for the gospel
Our team loves to pray for our Volunteer Force. If you have any prayer requests, please send them here. Your requests will be kept confidential and anonymous.
Be encouraged by our 2030 Growth Initiative Impact Report –
We couldn’t have done ANY of it without YOU!
