Meet the Children’s Hunger Fund Dallas Team!

We recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for a new facility that will be built in the Town of Prosper, Texas. In the wake of that event, we want to introduce you to the incredible men and women of our Dallas office.

We also invite you to learn more about our new North Texas facility and the ministry opportunities it will bring to the area. You can learn more about it here.

I enjoy talking to pastors about the joys and challenges of ministry and praying with them.

2. What do you love most about working at CHF?

I believe in the mission of CHF of delivering hope to suffering children because, as a child, I experienced food insecurity.

3. What excites you about the future of the North Texas building?

I’m excited about Children’s Hunger Fund having a greater presence and, as a result, a greater impact in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

1. What do you love most about working at CHF?

I love being able to serve Jesus in my profession. This is a blessing I will always treasure.

2. What excites you about the future of the North Texas building?

I love that everything is being designed expressly for our purposes and needs.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

I heard Jim Word tell a volunteer group that, once they closed the lid on the Food Pak they were assembling, the next person to open that box will be a child who needs the food and who will have the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. I know he was talking to our volunteers, but it impacted me greatly as well.

1. What is your favorite task or job responsibility at CHF?

I support people who tell the stories of CHF—to our supporters, partners, volunteers, and online. I love increasing their traction so we can engage even more in this incredible community.

2. What do you love most about working at CHF?

There is nothing like working with people who believe in what they’re doing. There’s a different kind of passion and drive to even the smallest tasks.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

I’ve worked with volunteers for years, but when CHF says anyone can volunteer, they really mean it. I love seeing groups of all kinds—no matter their age or ability—be able to give back to those in need with their time and efforts. What a gift to see the joy it brings them to feel useful!

1. What have you enjoyed most about your first week at CHF?

Seeing God’s work come alive has been exhilarating. Working alongside the team at CHF, serving God, and dedicating myself to CHF’s mission exceeds my expectations with every challenge and objective that comes before me.

2. What drew you to working at CHF?

The call to serve God is what drew me to CHF. The position matched up to my experience and strengths, as well as an opportunity to grow in my faith as a new Christian. Jesus gave His life for me, and so I owe my life to Him. Whatever I’m called to do, I’ll do with joy and without hesitation.

3. What excites you about the future of the North Texas building?

I’m most excited about the opportunity for the growth of CHF—the overall increase in outreach to those in need of hope, the spreading of the gospel, and spiritual fulfillment. The facility is going to plant seeds in the minds of many, stimulating a drive to serve the less fortunate and marginalized, both physically and more importantly, spiritually.

What excites me most is the opportunity to impact our local community through service opportunities and the experience of Poverty Encounter.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

I was impacted by the story of how one of our partner churches ministered to a family whose father was facing a severe illness and how they walked along with that family during that father’s passing.

1. What is your favorite task or job responsibility at CHF?

My favorite thing to do is participate in our distributions. This is when I’m able to connect with and pray for local leaders and pastors.

2. What excites you most about the new North Texas building?

I’m excited about the impact that this building will have on the community, including churches and schools.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

One of the most impactful experiences was a food packing event at Fielder Church. This incredible event brings together hundreds of volunteers to pack thousands of Food Paks. Each Food Pak is then entrusted to a church leader or pastor, who delivers it directly into the hands of children in need, spreading hope throughout our community and across multiple states.

Loading the container to the Dominican Republic to equip churches for mercy ministry. We may never fully understand our reach or grasp the impact, but knowing that we made a difference in the lives of children across the world is immeasurable.

1. What do you love most about working at CHF?

Every staff member I have met lives out our mission statement in their work.

2. What excites you most about the new North Texas building?

Poverty Encounter! The mission trips I have been on have dramatically shaped not only my worldview but, most importantly, my understanding of who God is and who I am in God. I can’t wait for all the people who will get to go on a “mission trip” via Poverty Encounter.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

This week, at 7:30 in the morning, a gentleman came by because a friend told him about Children’s Hunger Fund, and he wanted to check it out. I was blessed to be able to give him a tour. When we got to the Poverty Encounter display, and I began to explain what Poverty Encounter was, I glanced at this gentleman and saw tears running down his face. His daughter was adopted from an orphanage in Romania many years ago, and he had also been on many mission trips. I felt like he knew in his heart the impact Poverty Encounter would make, and he was overwhelmed by it.

1. What do you love most about working at CHF?

I love seeing how our hard work creates ministry opportunities for the dear pastors and churches we serve.

2. What excites you most about the new North Texas building?

The new facility in Prosper will be a unique space with Poverty Encounter and the conference spaces that will allow us to invite more people to see and hear what the Lord is doing through CHF.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

During the season of COVID, I went on a home visit with one of our church pastors. Although we could not go into the home, we delivered much-needed resources to a single mom who had just been diagnosed and sent away from the hospital because they had no beds. When we made the delivery, her three-year-old waddled out on the porch. He was beautiful and full of joy to see us, yet he had no idea the terrible situation his mom was facing. Then I heard the pastor on the phone with the mom, sharing the gospel. Hope was there, and I had a small part in helping deliver it.

1. What do you love most about working at CHF?

What I love most about working at CHF is our desire to see the gospel proclaimed and lives changed through the work of the local church.

2. What excites you most about the new North Texas building?

What excites me most about the new North Texas building is the opportunity to expose the entire community to the perils of poverty through Poverty Encounter and to see the change that will begin to take place because of it.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

One of our churches sent a volunteer to visit a grandmother caring for her granddaughter, who needed additional help. When the volunteer returned the next week, three other children were in the home, and it was a very depressing atmosphere. As she was speaking with the grandmother, the story became clear. Her daughter, who lives in Houston, was involved in a horrible traffic accident that killed her and one of her children, and the other three survived and are now orphans.

Their grandmother is now their mother, and because of the newly formed relationship with this church volunteer, the local church stepped in to help.

Fast-forward two years. This family is very involved in that church. The children are doing well in school, with the help of some of the church members who are helping them with their studies, and the grandmother now helps deliver Food Paks to children and families in need.

1. What is your favorite task or job responsibility at CHF?

My favorite thing to do is work with our donors.

2. What excites you most about the new North Texas building?

I’m excited about the increased capacity to impact others for Christ.

3. What is one story during your time at CHF that has impacted you the most?

I talked with a young mother to thank her for filling a couple of Food Paks during a Project Food Pak. She said she wanted to fill the boxes with her child because someone had helped her when she was in the same situation.

We are so thankful that God has blessed us with each one of these amazing servants who are eager and willing to work for God’s glory. As you continue to pray for the Children’s Hunger Fund ministry, would you also pray for our Dallas Team and the construction that will be taking place in the Town of Prosper, Texas, in the months ahead?

We also invite you to participate in what the Lord is doing in North Texas. Your support can help us provide more meals to children in North Texas and around the world and educate the next generation about the realities of global poverty and how they can respond in compassion.
