Meet the Staff: Roger Bayramian

This won’t be a surprise, but I enjoy working with numbers.

As Controller at Children’s Hunger Fund, this indeed comes as no surprise, but for Roger Bayramian, it’s more than that.

Numbers tell a story. They’re not just numbers to us. They tell the story of God’s work here: His faithfulness to provide resources for us to steward, and then the work He does with those funds that go out. When we send cash grants to partners, food, clothing, or other resources, those numbers tell the story of the impact we’re making.

Roger Bayramian’s role at CHF involves managing the organization’s daily finances, including reporting, budgeting, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and coordinating the annual audit. As you can imagine, this means Roger spends a lot of time behind his computer, but that doesn’t mean he’s idle; Roger loves exploring God’s creation outdoors, hiking, and going on walks. He’s made it to the top ten on the annual CHF staff Steps Challenge every year since we began in 2019—he even won it in 2021!

Roger joined the staff at CHF in December 2010. “I started working at CHF right after my daughter was born,” he shared. His son was born two years later. “I had a career before I came to CHF, but my kids have grown up only knowing I’ve worked at CHF; they don’t know anything different.” Over the years, his wife and kids have had the opportunity to develop a heart for volunteering and learn more about what God is doing through CHF.

I try to connect all of it, so that my work isn’t separate. After all these years, CHF is part of who we are; it’s part of our family. They know about it and see it everywhere.

One of Roger’s favorite aspects of working for Children’s Hunger Fund is the opportunity to integrate his faith into his work and use the gifts God has given him for a meaningful purpose.

“When you connect to a mission,” he shared, “It doesn’t seem so much like a job. It’s more of a vocation that you have, and your heart gets to connect with what you get to do every day. It changes your perspective on work.”

Although his faith is a vital part of his life today, that wasn’t always the case. Roger was born into a religious family but drifted away from the church during his teenage years. He spent several years questioning what he truly believed and doubting religion overall.

However, God had a plan for Roger and reached him in college through a local church outreach. This was Roger’s first understanding of the gospel and his need for a Savior. It was at this time that Roger committed his life to following Christ, wherever that would lead him.

Ultimately, that led him to Children’s Hunger Fund, but not before he spent some time working in the real estate industry. He also earned his Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree at The Master’s Seminary in 2008. Speaking of furthering his education, in 2020, Roger also earned his Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Over his years at Children’s Hunger Fund, Roger has had the opportunity to see the ministry firsthand, and not just from behind his desk. In 2019, he joined a small group of co-workers to visit our church partners in El Salvador and Guatemala.

My favorite thing about being on staff at Children’s Hunger Fund is seeing how the Lord works to impact the world. It’s amazing to see and hear the stories of God working through the local church—meeting the needs of children and families and ultimately seeing them share the hope of the gospel.

Roger’s journey demonstrates how faith, calling, and integrity can come together in meaningful ways. His dedication to accuracy and transparency in CHF’s finances shows professional excellence and a strong desire to honor God with every detail. Whether preparing reports, supporting global ministry partners, or living out his faith at home, Roger approaches his work with quiet integrity that builds trust and points others to something greater.

As Roger continues to serve behind the scenes, his story reminds us that every person has a name, every number has a story, and every detail—when surrendered to God—can contribute to something eternal.
