Welcome to Children’s Hunger Fund

San Antonio

We are grateful for our volunteers, and we look forward to welcoming you to the team! To help you prepare for your volunteer experience, we have answered some frequently asked questions.
When can I volunteer?

Wednesdays and Saturdays 9 am – 12 pm, as scheduled. We do have occasional evening workdays, and special event work days as well. Once you are registered with us, we will notify you of other opportunities to volunteer.

Who can volunteer?

Families and individuals are welcome, and there is no minimum age requirement to work in our distribution centers. Individuals must be 13 or older to create their own volunteer account.

What if I'm bringing minors with me?
If you bring minors with you who are not under your legal guardianship, please have parents sign the Hold Harmless form and bring it with you on your volunteer day.

We require that there be an adult present with all minors until the entire group is off-site. Minors cannot be dropped off and picked up at a later time.

How should I dress?

Our San Antonio distribution center is climate controlled. Please dress in comfortable, casual clothing, and with safety in mind. No open-toed, open-heel, or high-heel shoes.

What will I be doing?

Together, we deliver hope in many ways! You may do a variety of things, including packing Food Paks, bagging bulk beans and pasta, sorting through donations, and prepping containers for international shipment.
