In a very remote village in Belarus, three generations of Jema’s family live in a government-owned home badly in need of repair.

Eight-year-old Jema lives with her siblings, her mother, her grandmother, and her great-aunt. Unlike the bustling metropolis of the Belarusian capital of Minsk, employment opportunities are limited in Jema’s village. The three women milk cows all day at the dairy farm down the road and each earns less than $12 per day. Putting food on the table each day is a constant struggle.

With the gifts you’ve sent, the pastor of a local church near Jema’s village has been able to identify ten families in desperate need of help, including Jema’s. These families have begun receiving Food Paks and regular visits from members of the church.

Each Food Pak delivery is an opportunity for Jema and her family to hear a message of encouragement and hope. On a recent visit, Jema’s older sister, Dariya, began asking questions about God for the first time. Because of a simple box of food, Dariya’s heart has softened toward the message of Jesus’s saving grace.
