Dear Friends,

It is our joy and honor to be able to fellowship with you at the 2023 Children’s Hunger Fund President’s Retreat!

We are looking forward to spending time together at the beautiful Montage Deer Valley resort. God has been so faithful to the ministry of Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF), and we want to share our hopes for the future of the ministry with you.

It is our desire that this event will be an encouraging and rejuvenating time for you and that you would open your heart to how God is calling you to bring hope to the lives of suffering children around the world.

We are so thankful for this time to get to know you deeper and for your generosity toward children in need.

For the children we serve,

Our mission is to deliver hope to suffering children by equipping local churches for gospel-centered mercy ministry.
Since 1991, 96% of all revenue has directly supported programs that serve suffering children and families. CHF has Distribution Centers in Dallas, San Antonio, and at our headquarters in Los Angeles. At each center, bulk food is packed by volunteers into “Food Paks” (a box of nutritious food that can feed a family facing food insecurity).

Through CHF’s unique ministry model, local pastors and volunteers—from churches across the US and in 29 countries around the world—deliver Food Paks directly to the homes of families in need in their communities. These Food Paks open the door for relationships to be formed and for the gospel to be shared, meeting not only the family’s physical need for food but their spiritual need for Christ, as well.

Speakers & event hosts
Dave Phillips
Dave Phillips
Founder and President

As a young man, the devastating poverty Dave witnessed at a children’s hospital in Honduras changed him forever. With a united passion to impact the next generation and help local churches build relationships with poor children in their communities, Dave and his wife, Lynn, founded Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF).

Lynn Philips
Lynn Phillips
Co-founder and Relationship Development Ambassador

After helping her husband, Dave, establish Children’s Hunger Fund, Lynn transitioned from her job as a public teacher to homeschool their four sons. Lynn has always had a heart for children, and her desire to educate the next generation on a biblical response to global poverty led to her role as a Poverty Encounter facilitator. She now serves CHF as a Relationship Development Ambassador.

Michael Richards
Michael Richards
Senior Vice President

For nearly twenty years, Michael has served at Children’s Hunger Fund in a myriad of ways, from overseeing volunteer operations and international logistics, to opening the San Antonio and Dallas offices. As Senior Vice President, he is focusing on cultivating relationships with supporters, stewardship, ambassador program, executive leadership, and the growth of the Children’s Hunger Fund Legacy Foundation

Rick Davis
Executive Director, Relationship Development

Rick is a marketing, sales, development, and customer service veteran with life-changing experiences from both the corporate and non-profit worlds. While he has enjoyed them all, serving those less fortunate—especially children—holds a place close to his heart. Rick is excited to be working with a CHF team dedicated to releasing children from physical and spiritual poverty. He serves the Relationship Development team, which includes Development Officers as well as the Marketing, Communications, and Donor Care teams.

Mario Aguilar
Mario Aguilar
Interim Executive Director, Ministry Development

Mario was born in El Salvador and moved to the US in 1998. His greatest desire is to see impoverished communities treasure Jesus as the only One Who could satisfy the deepest need of their hearts. The Lord directed Mario’s vocational efforts to join the ministry of CHF in 2012. Combining his business training with his passion for the gospel, God has allowed Mario to equip churches worldwide towards a gospel-centered mercy ministry.
