Welcome to Children’s Hunger Fund

Chicago

We are grateful for our volunteers, and we look forward to welcoming you to the team! To help you prepare for your volunteer experience, we have answered some frequently asked questions.
When can I volunteer?

Wednesdays and two Saturdays per month, 9 – 11:30 am

Who can volunteer?

Families and individuals are welcome, and there is no minimum age requirement to work in our distribution centers. Individuals must be 13 or older to create their own volunteer account.

What if I'm bringing minors with me?
If you bring minors with you who are not under your legal guardianship, please have parents sign the Hold Harmless form and bring it with you on your volunteer day.

We require that there be an adult present with all minors until the entire group is off-site. Minors cannot be dropped off and picked up at a later time.

How should I dress?

Dress for the season! Layers are suggested for the winter months, and keep in mind that the distribution center can get very warm on a hot day. Please dress in comfortable, casual clothing, and with safety in mind. No open-toed, open-heel, or high-heel shoes.

What will I be doing?

Together, we deliver hope in many ways! You might build Food Paks, scoop beans, bag pasta, wrap toys, sort donated products, or package a variety of other gifts to help suffering children and families around the world.

Where are you located?
