You can help Children’s Hunger Fund deliver hope
to those suffering in the aftermath of the Ecuador Quake.
On Saturday evening, April 16, 2016, a massive 7.8 magnitude earthquake rocked the country of Ecuador, west of the Andes Mountains. The epicenter of the earthquake was in the coastal areas in the northwest region of the country, and since the first quake there have been more than 230 aftershocks recorded.
BBC World News reports that as many as 413 people are feared dead and that more than 2,500 men, women, and children have been injured in the aftermath of the quake. Rescuers are still frantically making their way through the rubble to find survivors and recover bodies.
Children’s Hunger Fund is responding to this tragedy through our ministry partners in Ecuador. As casualties rise and the injured seek help, there are thousands who have lost their homes and are desperate for care.
Currently, the greatest needs are for food, water, mattresses, and medicine. With your help, we hope to provide our partners with the ability to offer these necessities to earthquake victims in the most affected areas of Manabi, Porto Viejo, and Manta.
We hope that, through the support of our ministry partners, Children’s Hunger Fund can respond to this disaster by lifting the people of Ecuador up, showing them the love of Christ, and helping this broken country to rebuild–and we ask that you join us.
